“As a native of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., i’ve always been fascinated by the world of sailing, maps, and charts. When I couldn’t find any contemporary maps of the Virgin Islands, I decided to make my own. Something that would serve it’s purpose as a map but also be beautiful to look at.When I started designing the map, I immediately knew it would need to be a screen-print. The beautiful imperfections of screen-printing and halftones gives such a tactile feeling to something originally designed on a computer.The results are beyond my expectations and i’m so pleased to have been able to collaborate with the great artists of The Half and Half to bring my vision to life.
