"For any long-standing property, I am always concerned about accounting for it's history. So when TOPPS reached out to commission The Amazing Spider-Man for their first-ever original artwork cards on the new MARVEL Collect! app, my first concern was doing honor to an icon, while simultaneously offering a unique addition to its legacy. I feel creating an official Spidey illustration would be a dream-come-true for any nerd who grew-up loving all things pop culture, so there were multiple factors exerting pressure to do well.
